Sometimes weight loss doesn’t make sense…
I have been studying up on weight loss and nutrition for awhile now, and while I am not a professional, I consider myself to know a lot.
But, just as with other things in life, the more I know, the more confused I get.
First… How is it possible that I lost 11 pounds last week 4 of which in one day? Probably lots of water weight.
Second… Yesterday I ate the same as always, rode 22 miles on the bike, which burned 700 cals and gained 2 pounds.
I don’t let it bother me much.
Just confuzzled. ![]()
I know how you feel, cuz I feel the same way when that happens to me!!! I just tell myself I am building muscle whihc weighs more!!! I don’t even rely on the scale anymore, it is all about body fat percentage to tell em the truth!!
Good luck to you!!!
Even though you burn calories if you work your muscles you gain weight, because muscles weigh more than fat. So even though you gain pounds your BMI should still be going down or you still should be losing inches.
I could be wrong but that’s my understanding.
Ok…muscles DO NOT weigh more than fat. I got that pointed out to me at WW…but they are denser and there for less area weighs more than the same area of fat. You are doing awesome bro. Keep up the good work!
COnfuzzled - that is not a word bro - LOL
**stephen looks gift horse in mouth**
How did I know my teacher sister would correct my non-word.
lol
yes…I am confuzzled too…and disingretagious. Plus I am scaleaphobic which is increased through the aquadetelium…y’know what I mean!
tee hee!!
Yeah, scale is actually a pretty lousy way of measuring your body fat. Unfortunately, it’s the only practical way we have.
It’s a good idea to take your measurements. I’d rather lose the fat than the weight any day.
