I think my scale is a piece of crap…

Both of them.  I have two scales and both of them are inaccurate I think.  I have a digital and a mechanical.  If you stand on the digital 10 times it will give 10 different readings varying by 4lbs or so.  The Mechanical one weighs about 10 lbs heavier than the digital.

I know the mechanical is not right, I have been told by everyone that weighs on it that it is way too high.  So, how am I supposed to judge my progress based on inconsitant readings?

I would like to buy a “Doctors” type scale but geez those things are pricey.  I’ve been looking on Craigslist, but with not much luck.

I guess until then, I will just have to go by how I feel and pretty much throw my scale out the window.

How you feel is the main thing anyway. I hate scales, none of them are the same. Hang in there, you’re doing awesome.

I found it really important to get an accurate scale, otherwise I would be just like you and get so frustrated. As well, I had to weigh myself at the same time everyday and only that one time, or I would keep stepping on the scale.

I found a great scale on Amazon, it’s Tanita BF679W Duo Scale Plus Body Fat Monitor with Body Water. It just a bit expensive at 49.99. But at least the shipping is free, so no spending money on gas. It has helped me a lot.

mine is whacked out too. I also have a digital and mechanical and the exact same problem… sure we aren’t using the same 2 scales…LOL It’s a real pain but if I buy yet another scale my hubby will loose his mind. I would suggest finding a medical quality scale at a gym or your DR’s office and weigh in once every 2 weeks on that scale to monitor your weight more accurately.

“Scales are the devil” ha ha!! have to agree!
once i got on my scale (digital) it read 117!!! whoooo hoooo! i stepped off than on, NOT 117, but my same ole weight plus a few pounds….. grrrrrrr
throw away the scale and weigh at a gym or drs office, than you have people watching that you don’t throw something at it….

I have the same freaking problem. I have bought and returned like five different scales in the last couple months. Those people think I’m nuts.
